at the end of the summer, I wanna dye my hair purple, but I have very dark brown hair, and i'd rather not have to lighten it. so can anyone suggest a hair dye that is fairly cheap and powerful enough to show thru my dark hair?

depends on how dark you want to go.. do you want it perment. Don't buy the box kit for walmat.. more than likely it won't stay.. I would find a sallies or a place that sells professional color and get 20 volume. if want a dark purple then you will be fine. Places like sallies will have color for dark hair. Also you can try Hot topic.

You could buy the spray on color or try Sally's Salon. There is also veggie dye's. Most of the dye's that don't bleach "n" color will come out dark purple. The spray on will be a little lighter but washes out quickly.

after wash and condition blow dry it out then use a straightner....and try sum spritz.

Then when theres time for bed get those big rollers and splash somemore hair spray. and tye it up with a satin scarf. That easy in just 1 hour or 2

"Pretty wavy style"?! Maybe I am blind but her hair didn't look wavy to me, but more bed head, straight and dirty. If your hair tends to be fluffy try a defrizzing serum to calm it down and don't blow dry it. Blow drying tends to give hair more direction.

i like to do a poof. Put your hair in a low poney tail and then take a small amount of hair from the front. Pin the hiar so that it is not tight against your head. It's comfy and stylish. i also think braids are really cute.

Look in the hair accessory aisle of your favorite store. Get some clips, pony tail holders, bobby pins and what ever else strikes your fancy. Just by checking out what is in the store you'll get lots of ideas. My hair is just shoulder length, but I have this cool comb that I got at Kmart that you slide into a french twist, Voila! Another is a pretty barrett that has a wooden stick though it that I put the back of my hair up with. Just secure it with a clear ponytail holder, flip the ponytail up and secure it in place with the barrett with the ends sticking up looking kinda messy. Just check out the accessories and you get lots of ideas! ;-)

Be daring since you have a light skin tone go all the way by going blonde!! The Shade of blonde I recommend for you is a reese witherspoon blonde. Trust me it will look great on you. Since your hair is black you need to bleach your hair to get a blonde result followed by using a regular blonde color over it. The best blonding product out there for you is the Clairol Born Blonde Maxi it provides the maximum blonding for even the darkest hair. Since your hair is very dark you would have to leave the blonding mixture for two hours before it is fully lightened to blonde. Your hair will go through several stages the stages are

1. Black

2. Brown

3. Red

4. Orange

5, Gold

6. yellow

Once your hair is lightened to blonde just rinse use a toner to remove any unwanted tones and wait for a few days before putting any color into your hair just to give it time to heal. SInce your hair is going to be a little dry what I recommend is doing daily moistureizing treatments with mayonaise not only will it protect your hair against breakage it will also add nutrients protein and shine. Just lather leave on 10 mintues and rinse. Once a few days have gone by and your bleached hair has healed what I then recommend is using the Clairol Hydrience #04 Sunset Light Golden Blonde it is a beautiful all over blonde color that is never brassy and is gentle enough to use on bleached hair. Also included there is a tube of the pre and post color moisturizing treatments so your hair won't dry out. Also to keep your color vibrant what I recommend is using the John Frieda Sheer Blonde Shampoo Conditioner plus colorglaze Platinum to Champagne for lighter shades of blonde hair. With these tips you will have beautiful blonde hair just like Reese Witherspoon!!!! P.S to maintain blonde hair and to make it look fresh and natural be prepared to do touch ups every two weeks because two weeks after bleaching your hair the black roots will start peaking out.

hmm, ur hair looks good as it is, but i can suggest that u try and highlite ur hair, and it will look real nice if u put curls in it...im 100% honest! some colors dat will be good for highlites would be reds, but more like a natural red...not that wild red. maybe get some light brown in it, that would look nice. if u just wanna dye it one color, try a medium brown...or even a hair toner. with dark hair, its so easy to add life to it;)

i bought l'oreal color pulse cool blonde, jerome russell bBlonde temporary beach blonde spray, and jerome russell bWild temp'ry pink spray

we are doing our hair blonde with pink hilights...

my questions are:

Will the jerome russell hair dye wash out in the pool (NOT something we want haha)

and will the colors (especially the blondes) show up in our hair (my hair is VERY light brown and the other girl's is brown)

i dont know much about the sprays but i do know that you will not acheive the color on the box. the other girls hair will probably turn a brassy color so i wouldnt even attempt it. and if you are using a spray on color for the pink it will most likly wash out in the pull sorry to burst your bubble. but good luck if you try it, though i wouldnt recommend it.

In very light brown it will show, I am not sure about the brown but I think so. Leave it in for longer just in case. And the dye will not wash off (maybe a TINY TINY bit) unless shampooed.

Most temp colors I've seen will wash off in water, or at the least they will run. I had some baseball players come in and do their hair red for the teams color, and by the second inning, with the sweat and all, they looked like they had been beating each other with the bats instead of playing ball. The color ran everywhere. It was a BIG MESS!!!!!!!!

first off...there is no such thing as temporary blonde. when you get blonde hair, you are lifting all the pigment and keratin out of the hair strand to make it lack color...so there is nothing to fade off, you just have to let it grow out, or color over it. as far as the pink, it will definately wash out in the pool. if it sprays on your hair, its not locked in there like a permanent color that develops it way into the hair strand would. i would not reccommend doing either at home by yourself! i know you are probably upset, but its not a good idea. bleach is the toughest thing, even for a stylist, to work with...so i never reccommend home bleaching. you should try getting extensions, and coloring those, or buying them the bright fun colors you want, then gluing them in, or getting clip on ones. if you arent messing with your hair a bunch, and if you wear a swim cap, you shouldnt have a prob with them falling out. they also make glue remover to get them out once you're done. all very inexpensive. good luck, hope this helps! :)

ive used nair for men body hair removal before for my chest, and i seem to have gotton these red, inflamations. I was wondering if there is anyway to prevent this, like if i could apply a cleanser, or if maybe there is another hair removal product i could use?i currently shave my chest, back and bicep/tricep hair (hair on the upper arm) and i had the results. Hair grows back immediately and leaves a gross amount of hair and once i shave you get those little black spots showing where hair would be. I need something please! i have to get changed for gym starting in 1 1/2 weeks, so i need something. i also have minor, not major acne. i dont know if that'll affect anything.

fructis do a great fibre gum, it has an orange label with "switch" on the top, but if you put a tiny bit through your fingers you can style it anyway you want - better to use it on damp hair. i tried mousse, gel, wax, a ton of stuff but it kept leaving residue or being sticky or greasy looking but this stuff is really good. wow they should pay me for this kind of promotion!

Couple of suggestions for updos:

1. For a quick updo: Put your hair into a loose ponytail, preferably midway up the back of your head. Part the hair just before the rubber band, making a hole. Flip the ponytail under and through the hole. You may have to adjust it a little, but it makes for a cute style.

2. This is kind of a new one these days that I think is pretty cute. Part your hair to the side. Put it into a ponytail. Then, just add a headband a few inches behind your hairline, to show off your part. A thick headband looks cutest with this style.

take all your hair like you are doing a pony tail on or near the top f your head. but you are not doing a pony tail you are tying it roughly three quarters the length of your hair. now you should have something of a puffy kind of look around your head. the ends are sticking out the top and you can decide if it needs to be tighter or more loose. pull down a kiss curl or two and make ringlets with them and tidy the ends so that they blend with the do.

well if you want something that won't be too dramatic i would suggest a nice neutral red or light brown, even a dark blond would look good depending on your skin tone are you more of a golden brown or do you have a pinkish tone to your skin? if golden/caramel then i would go with either the light brown or dark blond but if you are more peachy/pinkish brown i would go with the neutral red. most of the people i know with really dark hair do the extreme like platinum blond or bleach blond which looks pretty cool too. but very dramatic though! hope i was a bit of a help

i have close to black colored hair. i wanted to dye my bangs blond. i know many hair dye's wont effect dark hair without bleach, but the hair dye i bought claims it's meant for black women who want to go blond. the side of the box shows black hair that turned to a bright honey blond. now i used it , left it in for 30 minutes, and my bangs have not changed at ALL. they don't even look lighter. wtf? i mean, i didn't actually expect it to come out half as vibrant as the box showed, but i accpected a small change at least. should i put it in a second time, or would that be a really bad idea? i'd go out and get it done professionally if i had any money. this crap was on asle for $5, no wonder.

If you want your bangs lighter then the only way to get it like that is by bleaching it. I wouldn't do it yourself as you can bleach your scalp which is very bad for your hair I would go to a salon to get that done. Then you may need to go and buy some hair treatment/product to give it a bit of shine or gloss.

Hair dye not working!?

i've repeated the bleaching proccess up to 6 times in one day on my bangs: my hair was dyed black, and dyed red underneath that from past times, and my bangs got to bleach blonde.

Go to a store like Ricky's (if you live in NY) or a major dealer of Proffesional Beauty supply products maybe, but a packet of Clairol Proffesional powder lightener ( its a small white packet of powder bleach, it says BW 2 big on the front) and a small bottle of 40 developer (they should be right next to eachother). Also, buy a box of any brand blonde dye in the color you want your hair to be in the end.

The mix ratios are on the bottle. leave it on until it starts to look lighter, or in 30 minute intervals. Wash your hair between each use of the bleach, and only use conditioner. Once it gets light (probably a very light brassy orange, close to blonde but not quite) ditch the bleach and use the box of dye you bought. It will finish lightening, and even the tone to what you wanted.

Trust me i've done it a million times!!!

and it'll only run you about $15!

Oh and dont forget to buy extra gloves to protect your hands!

and it is wise to buy a moisture therapy conditioner, just to upkeep your hair and keep it feeling healthy.

If your natural color is black then there is no way to get it blond without bleaching it out clear white and then putting a blond color of choice on it. You will only end up with orange hair or a terrible red color. Black hair is very difficult to turn blond. Sorry! You will need to get a bleaching kit and bleach it clear out. This can also damage your hair. Sometimes what we want we cannot get to our satisfaction without perfessional help.

Artificially colored hair can not be lightened with another application of hair color. Bleach or a product that removes oxidized haircolor from the hairshaft are the only ways that your hair can be lightened. Hair that is naturally dark is different than hair that has been tinted a dark color. I would NOT recommend a second application of color as it would not do anything to the color of your hair.

Any color that you use is capable of lightening 1-3 levels of color that's with your basic 20 volume developer on a natural hair color if hair has been tinted anywhere from black to darker browns its near impossible to lighten with a lighter haircolor Also just to put it out there peeps, bleach is not intended for lifting/removing artificial haircolor that is misuse and extremely damaging to your hair. The product to remove a dark artificial color is a "tint remover" you can mix it with water it has the ability to lift like bleach, I do not recommend mixing it with developer/peroxide you can find it at the beauty supply it is called "Efasol" this is a professionally product you must follow directions once it starts to process its very fast,do not use metal clips you said you would be working on your bangs only do not let the product come in contact with the rest of your hair keep it separate. If you can a local beauty school should be able to help, speak to an instructor.Even allow them to do your hair for a minimal fee it should not be more than 10.00-$15.00 good luck!

just to let you know you really should bleach it first sometimes the color won't even show up if you don't. You can still change the color of your tips and it would be much easier to do if u bleached them i know this isn't the kind of answer your looking for but seriously it'd work so much better if u bleached it

i had really long hair and it didnt have a style to it..so it was pretty much a clean pallet. well i showed her the hair i wanted but she gave me something completly different and i hate it. she gave me layers, and the bottom layer is only in the back and its long, so it curls under, but the top layer goes all the way around and it flips up [its about shoulder length]. how can i just make it so its super stick straight and theres no flipping or curling or anything? ive tried straightening it with but it doesnt work. anything else? and i cant spend money so no hair products or anything. ughhh she messed up my hair!!! its awful.

Well, Option 1 you can invest in a better straightener.. This is well worth it... Remington Wet to Straight is supposedly pretty good and it isn't that expensive.. If you are looking for a more expensive iron , you can try Sedu or Chi

I know how you feel.. To be honest when i first got layers , i hated them.. But I have learned to absolutely love them.. They really can compliment your face if you style them right!

Since the lady didn't give you what you wanted.. I would go back and tell her... Either have her or another hairdresser fix it up to how you want it or just get a refund..

Aw, I'm sorry! Been here many times... Hmm, I know you don't want to curl, but I would try curling/turning all of your hair under. Maybe pin up one side to go with this. You could wear it pulled half-back until funds for a repair can be made. Low pigtails, different height pony-tails, if you have a good amount of body in your hair, you can do as I do when a crazy messes up my layers.

I wash, condition lightly, rinse, ring out and wrap in towel for 10 minutes. Bend over, hang hair upside down and apply mousse. Blow-dry to get most of wetness gone. Stand up, part hair with my fingers right side towards left side. Crimp hair bottom up to root with hand maybe apply more mousse or a TOUCH of gel. Dry a little more to help the curls/waves and vo-la! You can't really tell where the mess up is! I do this do alot untill my mess grows out or can be fixed. Hope something here has helped. Hi this exact same thing happened to me! Im just going to let my layers grow out ( i also straighten it but it still flicks and poofs after an hour) but in the mean time i find that my hair looks a better when i jus simply keep my hair tucked back behind my ears, bit random but it looks better that way xx

Pink. As I can see, u r looking for a soft scene look. Not too flashy, but trendy and stylish. I like your idea of "screamy" colors in dark hair. If I went for that kind of look, i would probably go with hot pink. The contrast always looks great. Blue is too similar to darker hair colors.

If u want an intense and clear color, u will first have to bleach the parts of hair u want to dye. On a light base, the color would always look brighter. It's like painting on a white paper.

I also have dark hair, I got some cheap permanant hair dye and put some red highlights in a few years ago. They showed up perfectly! and faded into an awesome pink! I recommend going to your local beauty supply store and getting something there, if you don't have one, try walmart! I don't remember the brand that I got, but I don't think it matters, if you leave it on your hair until you see a difference then it should work! I always leave it on longer than what the box says... but DO NOT go over 45-50 min!

Okay, I just bought Sims 2 OFB, I previously just had Deluxe (Regular+Nightlife) and University. Now none of my custom content will show up unless it is a recolor of an original Maxis item. If I try to enter a neighborhood or a house with custom content the game freezes and terminates. All of my clothes/hair/etc. still show up but none of my items. I checked and I have custom content set to be on/displayed. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

Hi,

Sometmies when you instal a new expansion pack you have to re-enable the custom content. If a screen hasnt popped up asking you to do this go dig around in the options and there should be a choice to enable the CC. You then have to reset the game before it take effect.

Check you downloads folder, if the CC is still all there then this should work.

If it doesnt work, and your cc is still in the folder, try removing it then adding it back. I dont mean re-downloading it, just actually moving it to a new folder then back into the downloads one.

If this doesnt work, then there is some kind of conflict with your cc. Try downloading the sims 2 pack clean installer and sims 2 filemaid. This will allow you to check your cc without the game running, and filemaid automatically puts downloads in the right place.

If that doesnt work, go to mod the sims 2 and ask there as there are people who know way more about the game than I do!

You may have custom content that is causing conflicts with the game. A lot of the custom meshes cause conflicts with content that is standard to the game.

You have to figure out which CC(s) are causing the problems. Start by removing half of it to another folder and launching the game. If the game works fine, close the game and then add a few more CCs back into the download folder. It's going to be a tedious process to do it this way if you have a lot of content.

You can either try to re-download the custom content that is causing the problems (hopefully the creator will have updated it so it is not causing the problem any more) or you may have to live without it.

a good idea would be to take a picture of your dress to your stylist and see if they have any ideas. i am THE WORST EVER at picking out hair styles, so whenever prom or anything rolled around, i always brought in a picture of my dress, and let my stylist suggest things, and then we tried them out to see what would look best. she never steered me wrong, my hair always looked fabulous, and i plan on doing the same thing with my wedding dress. by doing this, your stylist can also suggest any upkeep you might have to do on your hair to keep it in best shape for the wedding day....keep in mind what kind of veil or headpeice you have, and bring a picture of that, if not the actual peice in, so that you can find a style that works with whatever veil or headpeice you have

A RINSE will not CHANGE your hair color...a rinse will COAT your hair strands with another color. In other words your existing color + the rinse color="new" color. In order to lighten your hair you MUST use a PERMANENT hair color product...and BTW now that you put in BLACK you will NOT get it out unless it fades out over time or you bleach it out. PLEASE don't be a HAIR VICTIM--GET professional service...unless one is VERY artistically inclined or can do hours of research most do-it-yourselfers only end up looking like VICTIMS and a fashion violators! her hairs naturally curly i think. cause i remember that episode. but anyways. when youre hair is wet. preferably after the shower, apply gel or mouse and scrunch it with your hands and then apply hairspray everywhere. its called scrunching. but if your hair is COMPLETELY straight, i dont know if it will work because my hair is semi-wavier than it is straight. which helps it curl when its wet. anywyas.

while your hair is still wet..apply gel or mousse...then as you are drying your hair you need to use your fingers to "scrunch" your hair as you are drying...

When you are done...just set your hair with a hair spray...Scrunch gel is great for this look too!

its really annoying I know! The more you shave the more they will show up and they will stay like that. I'd try switching to Nair or Veet. I use the Nair Pretty foaming cream. It leaves your legs smooth without the razor bumps and cuts and "hair holes!"

at the end of the summer, I wanna dye my hair purple, but I have very dark brown hair, and i'd rather not have to lighten it. so can anyone suggest a hair dye that is fairly cheap and powerful enough to show thru my dark hair?

depends on how dark you want to go.. do you want it perment. Don't buy the box kit for walmat.. more than likely it won't stay.. I would find a sallies or a place that sells professional color and get 20 volume. if want a dark purple then you will be fine. Places like sallies will have color for dark hair. Also you can try Hot topic.

You could buy the spray on color or try Sally's Salon. There is also veggie dye's. Most of the dye's that don't bleach "n" color will come out dark purple. The spray on will be a little lighter but washes out quickly.

yeah it will show. if you want like a natural dye then use henna, its almost permenent but it comes in a lot of different colors. and it will show up. and if you dont like it then read the intructions for the removal.

Depend on how bright you want them. You'll probably have to bleach out the streaks and then place the purple hair dye on them, this will make them bright and more noticeable. If you place it on your black hair, it will be harder to see (if at all), but will show up in the light.

um. then you don't dye it. you bleach it, untill the hair gets towards the reder tones....

especally if you have dark dark hair. if you wanted to DYE it. you would have to bleach your hair, WHITE or REALLY BLOND, and then DYE it that color.

You have one other option--laser hair removal. Your question indicates that the hair is black--perfect for laser if your skin is not also too dark.

Laser practitioners can't promise complete removal, but the reduction that you would get would likely allow you to get by with minimal shaving to clean up, and show much less hair in between shaves.

What you described is normal. Not sure what you expect to happen but this is the way it is for a female. You have to shave every day or every other day. This is just part of the routine of being a woman.

If you can't find anything in pictures, your stylist will help you. In addition to tons of magazines they have in their waiting rooms, they always have sample strands of each color, like they used to have next to the boxes at drugstores. So when they show you the colors to choose from, you can put them to your hair and choose a little more easily.

If you have never dyed your hair before, I would suggest something a little more on the subtle side, don't overdo it the first time. Start with a few highlights on the top, and increase over time. This also gives you an idea if you really like the amount and color or not, and you can change things next time. Instead of going all out the first time, and absolutely hating it.

you should definitely ask your stylist. they can do exactly what you want. if your hair is a really dark brown, go for caramel (or at least something close to it), but definitely not a shade of blonde- trust me, it looks rly weird, unless you're doing layered highlights w/ lots colors and shades. if your hairs just a plain brown, you should get golden blonde highlights, maybe some blonde mixed in (if you're going for that kind of look). it'll look good rly good if you do different shades to give it a sun-kissed, natural but noticeable look

PLEASE don't make it too obvious! It's trashy when you see girls with brown hair and platinum blonde streaks. Try to go for a pretty auburn color mixed with caramel. That would be classy and a little different from the usual. Just look through magazines and show your stylist what you like. Hair color is something you don't pick on a web-site.

im going to a state swim meet with my HS swim team tomorrow and for state we dye hair by grade. im a freshman and there is one other freshman...

i bought l'oreal color pulse cool blonde, jerome russell bBlonde temporary beach blonde spray, and jerome russell bWild temp'ry pink spray

we are doing our hair blonde with pink hilights...

my questions are:

Will the jerome russell hair dye wash out in the pool (NOT something we want haha)

and will the colors (especially the blondes) show up in our hair (my hair is VERY light brown and the other girl's is brown)

i dont know much about the sprays but i do know that you will not acheive the color on the box. the other girls hair will probably turn a brassy color so i wouldnt even attempt it. and if you are using a spray on color for the pink it will most likly wash out in the pull sorry to burst your bubble. but good luck if you try it, though i wouldnt recommend it.

In very light brown it will show, I am not sure about the brown but I think so. Leave it in for longer just in case. And the dye will not wash off (maybe a TINY TINY bit) unless shampooed.

Most temp colors I've seen will wash off in water, or at the least they will run. I had some baseball players come in and do their hair red for the teams color, and by the second inning, with the sweat and all, they looked like they had been beating each other with the bats instead of playing ball. first off...there is no such thing as temporary blonde. when you get blonde hair, you are lifting all the pigment and keratin out of the hair strand to make it lack color...so there is nothing to fade off, you just have to let it grow out, or color over it. as far as the pink, it will definately wash out in the pool. if it sprays on your hair, its not locked in there like a permanent color that develops it way into the hair strand would. i would not reccommend doing either at home by yourself! i know you are probably upset, but its not a good idea. bleach is the toughest thing, even for a stylist, to work with...so i never reccommend home bleaching. you should try getting extensions, and coloring those, or buying them the bright fun colors you want, then gluing them in, or getting clip on ones. if you arent messing with your hair a bunch, and if you wear a swim cap, you shouldnt have a prob with them falling out. they also make glue remover to get them out once you're done. all very inexpensive. good luck, hope this helps! :)

There are many different styles of Rogaine out there. Theres shampoo, product, foam, and conditioner. Most of their products range btw. $25-50. But I dont think you are incapable of getting a Buzz Cut at all.

Sometimes you just have to live with what you're given. My hair looks just like (different style though). Is your dad bald? If so, it's definitely genetic. My dad was losing his hair in his early 20s.

They do make hair growth products but I've never heard of any of them consistently working.... There's always hair transplant in the future too, but I don't know much of anything about that.

let me tell you as a faithful manic panic user...i used after midnight blue, and a couple of other blues as well as black. it will not show up unless you have previously lightened your hair...it needs to be lightened enough for the color to deposit. it might tint your hair but you wont have a significant amount of color to really be pleased. go to your nearest beauty college and either ask questions about it or have them do it for the first lightening then color. i have bleached and blued my hair for the past 6 years. the electric sky blue was my first color and i wasnt pleased. it barely showed up after bleaching and it looked like a cotton ball mess. lol anyway, good luck.

if u want to make ur hair permanent, use bleach first and then dye it, if its fake crap, i suggest leaving it in for at least 3 hours, seriously, the box says 20 mins ish, but it stays in nicer if u wait longer. :)

I need a hair cut BAD. I let my ex's sister cut my hair and she cut it STRAIGHT ACROSS ((which I can't stand)) so I had to fix it myself.. it was even at first when I fixed it, but now it's kinda jacked up.

I've been searching online for potential haircuts for weeks. I kind of want the scene-girl hair, but I don't want to look like I have a mullet. I kind of want texturey, short, choppy layers, but I know that if I cut my hair any shorter than just past my shoulder's I'll get mad that it won't be long enough. Directors ought to be able to work from a decent photo, plus your acting ability as displayed in the audition, to figure out what's workable insofar as your appearance. Of course, you'll change it for the show if asked.

Many professionals must be working one job with one appearance while auditioning for other jobs--they may have to have an unusual style or special facial hair or whatever--doesn't hinder them.

I just got extensions today for the first time. And what are some tips I can get about them. They are sawed in. Like how do I wash them and stuff? And how do i make my natural hair blend more in with the extensions, so it doesn't show where my natural hair ends?

wear your hair curly instead of straight to make it blend. also dont wash the extensions that much because they ruin it, just wash the top of your hair more where your real hair is. at night braid your hair so it wont get tangled or/and wear a headbandana because extensions get tangled real easy. brush your hair alot everyday to comb out the tangled and make sure before and after you take a shower to BRUSH YOUR HAIR! like i cant say it enough, brush your hair. ha.
