No NO NO always go to a professional to do your hair especially when it comes to color, because there are metallic dyes that they sell such as at walmart and walgreens...ect... they will end up doing major damage.

First off,you cant lift color with color. Your hair is black and you want to do highlights the are auburn, which is a lighter color than your natural color. You will not see anything. It would be a waste of time. In order to get highlights you need to use bleach. Best thing to do is go to a professional. She can do the highlights by first bleaching and then applying an auburn color.
