Need help with my hair!?

I just came back from vacation and my hair is still showing the effects of the sun, saltwater, and chlorine, plus, the humid air. And the cheap shampoo at the hotel didn't help either. I have red, extremely frizzy, and unhealthy looking hair that is mostly straight and a bit wavy. I use tresseme shampoo and conditioner with vitamin e and I dont usually blow dry my hair or straighten/curl it. Plus, I have the big issue of not being able to put my hair up in a pony tail because my hair is too thick and I just have too much of it! Help please!

If you want some homemade remedies then I would try olive oil on your hair. wrap it in plastic wrap and apply heat either my going outdoors in the sun or using a blow dryer to add heat leave on 30-60 minutes depending on your over all condition. Shampoo but mix a little bit of alcohol into the shampoo to cut the olive oil. Next would be a trim at the salon making sure that your hairdresser actually understands what an inch is. Most don't and the results are that they cut your hair too short :( While getting a trim why not ask to have your hair thinned making it more manageable. Then allow it to grow out long enough for your ponytail

Before you go full on brown, you may want to first dye your hair an ash (dark ash blonde or light ash brown) color. That way it won't pull a red or brassy tone. then wait a couple days to apply desired color.

If you are leary of diy color, then see a salon. they could maybe put highlights/lowlights in that help boost the color. Also, if your hair is all one length, try putting some long layers in. It will help with the thickness of it and make it a little more manageable.

Hope this helps!

Try to use a hair mask with protein in it, it will help restore you hair and smooth it out. Ask your hairstylist which one would be best for your hair.
